Molten Metal Measurement | System Overview
In applications involving molten metal, precise temperature control is essential to guarantee the final product's strength, longevity, and quality. To ensure constant heating and prevent under or over-temperature situations, our molten metal temperature measurement system is made to provide precise, real-time measurements in 3 to 5 seconds.
The system consists of:
- Lance with a thermocouple tip (single or multi-dip)
- Molten Metal Pyrometers (Models: LMI-2010, LMI-2012, LMI-2014)
- Audio/visual alarms via the LLC-2010 lamp and hooter box
- Large remote displays (Model: LRU-2010)
This complete setup ensures operational safety and process efficiency with continuous monitoring, automatic alarms, and reliable display systems.
Our Instruments
Molten Metal Pyrometers
Designed for fast and precise measurement of molten metal temperatures. These units are:
- Rugged and user-friendly
- Compatible with K, R, S, and B-type thermocouples
- Equipped with memory for the last 100 readings
- Interface-ready for external displays and alarms
LMI-2010
- The LMI 2010 has a 2-inch 7-segment display.
- Digital data transmission through RS-485 connectivity to LRU-2010.
- The alarm relay output of the device can be sent to LLC-2010 for audio/visual indications.
LMI-2012
- LMI-2012 molten metal pyrometer is an economical and eco-friendly version
- The device provides the option to select the unit of measurement between °C and °F.
- It can be calibrated with or without ambient temperature compensation.
- The LMI-2012 can also transmit data digitally to the jumbo display (LRU-2010)
LMI-2014 / LMI-2018
- It combines three independent models, LMI-2010, LRU-2010 and LLC-2010, all in a single enclosure.
- The models are available in single/double-sided display versions.
- These devices are ideal for overhead or ceiling installation.
Supporting Devices
Large Remote Display – LRU-2010
- The device can have a 4" or 8" jumbo red 7-segment LED display.
- It captures the latched readings from LMI-2010.
- Digital data transmission can be done through RS-485 bus communication.
- This model is suitable for distant or elevated viewing as it can be mounted on walls or ceilings.
Lamp and Hooter Box – LLC-2010
- LLC-2010 provides visual and audio alerts for measurement stages.
- It consists of LED indications for Measurement in Progress, Measurement Over, Thermocouple continuity and a Hooter at the END of Measurement.
- LLC-2010 is driven by potential-free contacts from LMI-2010.
